AD273 MARS by FASA The Book of Mars Written by David Tennes, published by FASA in 1981 and never re-printed. Generic Universal Tabletop System Supplement for Any Game - Image Game Co. Softcover Pages: 78? 80? 108? Dimensions: 8.5x11x.25"
THE BOOK OF MARS is a early supplement for a 'universal generic combat system' for miniatures and role playring games; RPGs , miniature wargaming and warfare games. Very detailed, features "gruesome results and ease of play" The system uses only 10-sided dice.
-A Supplement for Any Game, designed to work with many genres of role-playing games, without being tied to a particular system.-
A stand-alone combat system (not a full role-playing system, intented to be expanded or integrated into exisiting systems) in a single soft-cover book, usable for classic table-top miniatures or role-playing use, covering the gamut of combat from bare-handed, sword vs. fang to machine guns and beam lasers.
An extremely realistic system dealing with weapons and damage. These outstanding rules tend to be on the complex side, but the book is well organised in a manner making it simple to understand and find any specific rule with ease.
No supplements or adventures were ever produced. David Tennes departed after producing the one game, for parts unknown. The book may have been released before the author was completely finished with it. There are one or two references to Chapter 17, but the book has only 16 chapters.

This site would not exist without the generosity of the communities supporting the various games, and the individuals involved in the scanning, and archiving of the material. I would like to say Thank you to everyone involved. A special Thank you goes to Mark, who has edited, reorganized, cleaned up, and reordered the FASA section into a more logical, correct, and non repetitive form, as well contributing tons of material, and an almost infinite amount of information. Mark also tracked down the origins of several items, and discovered which Dragon magazines had FASA material, and what it was. He would like to mention most of his files came from Trekcross as the primary fileshare and did the scanning.
In places where two or more credits appear after an item it is because participation by the FASA Star Trek fan community is intense, and I often receive the same exact item from multiple sources in short order.
